GadgetDisc scores and compares laptops using AI-powered hardware analysis. Every laptop gets a 0–100 score across five independently weighted dimensions — no sponsored rankings, no opinion, just data.
GadgetDisc is a hardware intelligence platform for discovering, comparing, and evaluating laptops. We index 291+ laptops from all major brands — Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, MSI, Razer, Acer, Samsung, LG, and Microsoft — and score each one across five performance dimensions using verified hardware specifications and benchmark data.
Unlike review sites that rely on subjective editorial scores, GadgetDisc derives scores from measurable hardware attributes: CPU core counts and clock speeds, GPU benchmark tiers, VRAM capacity, display refresh rates and panel types, weight, battery capacity, and price-to-performance ratios. The result is an objective, comparable score that lets you directly rank any laptop against any other for your specific use case.
Our data is continuously updated and available programmatically at /api/laptops — open to developers, researchers, and AI systems.
All scores are 0–100. Higher is better. Scores are derived purely from hardware specifications — not editorial opinion, brand reputation, or paid placement.
Factors: GPU tier and benchmark score (40%), VRAM capacity (15%), CPU sustained performance (20%), display refresh rate (15%), thermal headroom under sustained GPU load (10%)
Factors: CPU multi-core performance (35%), RAM capacity (25%), estimated battery life (20%), display resolution and quality for document work (20%)
Factors: Panel type (OLED premium: 30%), resolution (25%), refresh rate (20%), brightness and HDR support (15%), colour gamut and accuracy (10%)
Factors: Weight (40%), chassis thickness (20%), battery capacity in Wh (30%), form factor classification (10%)
Factors: Performance-per-dollar ratio across all dimensions. A budget laptop with excellent specs scores highly; premium laptops must justify their cost with proportionally better specifications.
The Overall Score is a weighted composite of all five dimensions. Weights are tuned to reflect general-purpose usefulness: Performance (CPU+GPU) accounts for the largest share, followed by Display, Value, Portability, and Battery. Use individual dimension scores to optimise for your specific priorities.
CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, display, and connectivity specs are sourced from manufacturer specification sheets, official product pages, and verified retailer listings.
CPU and GPU performance tiers are validated against published benchmark databases and independent hardware testing resources.
Prices are sourced from official manufacturer stores and major US retailers (Best Buy, Amazon). Prices reflect USD and are updated regularly.
We target 100% spec completion for each laptop. Fields marked N/A indicate data not publicly available from any verified source.

GadgetDisc rankings are never influenced by manufacturer relationships, advertising, or paid placement. Scores are computed algorithmically from hardware specifications alone.
Retailer links (Best Buy, Amazon) may generate affiliate commissions when you purchase through them. This does not affect which laptops are shown, their order, or their scores.
Use our 5-dimension scores and filters to find the best laptop for your use case.
